Ya empezamos!

The long anticipated bike trip has arrived. I've been planning on riding my bike through Mexico down to Central America and hopefully all the way to South America for the last two years. It has taken me a long time saving money and lots of lack of planning to finally arrive in Mexico. Originally I was planning on riding by myself but after talking about the trip for so long I convinced my friend Kodi Kelly to come along. And as an added bonus my other friend Andy decided to join us last minute.

After procrastinating like a champ, I finally started packing the night before my trip and quickly realized how much stuff I actually had to take care of before I left. I ended up packing and cleaning the room I had been staying in (big thanks to the Dick Family for hosting me the last couple months before my trip!) until 2:30 a.m. before my 4:45 a.m. wake up call for the flight.

My too large pile of gear.

Jill and Kodi arrive to pack up her bike and help me reduce my pile

Upon I arriving at the airport (big thanks to Bob Stone and my mom for driving us at 5:30 am) I realized I had left my passport on my mom's copier where I had deligently decided to make copies before we left. Shit. I freaked out but luckily my mom's roommate benji graciously drove down to airport and dropped it off just before the check in cut off time.

Kodi and Andy Pissed I forgot my passport

Landing in Puerto Vallarta we decided to take the bus to Sayulita to get a place to put our bikes together in. After some delicious street tacos we put our bikes together in the hostel.
Next we are heading to Mascota to visit a friend, Cisco, who now lives down here.
